A NEW YEAR AND NEW CHALLENGES FOR RHL ACTIVITIES
The New Year brings more excitement for RHL Activities, as the events company gears up for what promises to be an action packed 2012.
The first event of the year is the inaugural RHL Beach Race at Swansea, which will take place at Swansea Bay over the weekend of 2-4 March. RHL is excited about bringing beach racing to a new venue and a new audience, after successfully developing the Weston race into one of the biggest sporting events in the United Kingdom.
The Swansea event, which will see former Grand Prix rider Mark Jones come out of retirement to race for charity against the likes of Enduro legend David Knight, will be as testing as Weston, with mammoth dunes, a testing track and a three-hour feature race providing a whole new opportunity for bar banging and adrenaline fuelled madness.
With many of the plans in place, including a spectacular three-mile course design, RHL is proud to announce that they are working closely with the Swansea Business Improvement District to come up with special offers on accommodation, food, nightclubs and entertainment for a fun-packed full weekend.
With a number of discounts on offer entries are filling up fast for the Beach Race at Swansea, for which rider numbers will be limited in the first year, to allow RHL to ensure the smooth running of the event at the new venue. While there will be fewer riders at Swansea, the prize money will be the same as at Weston. We'll leave you to do the maths!
“I’m pleased to say everything is going to plan with the RHL Beach Race at Swansea,” said Director of RHL Activities, Gareth Hockey.
“It’s a fantastic venue, and with our years of experience in putting a similar event on at Weston, along with the support we've received from local businesses in Swansea, interest from the Welsh Assembly and the infrastructure on the seafront, we can take this concept to a whole new level. We’re finalising everything with our contractors, whom have all worked with us for many years, which is important for us if we are to offer a level of continuity at our events. There are still discounts available to riders who book in with us now, and there’s going to be plenty more deals, entertainment and excitement on offer, which we’ll be announcing over the coming weeks,” concluded Hockey.
For the weekend’s entertainment RHL Activities has planned themed music tents for the evenings, Steve Colley’s amazing trials demos between the races as well as the local community embracing the event and inviting race goers to enjoy the nightlife on offer in Swansea.
