PARTY HEARTY AT THE WESTON BEACH RACE
This year's Weston Beach Race, which will take place in the Somerset seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare from 9-11 October, promises to be party central, as organiser Gareth Hockey prepares to host parties on both the Friday and Saturday nights.
On Friday afternoon and evening, the head honcho of RHL Activities will host a welcome party, starting at two o'clock in the afternoon and continuing on throughout the evening.
RHL Activities have lined up the most important element - the bar - as well as live bands and a karaoke stage for those who like to make their own sweet music! The food stands will also be open for that all-important post party snack.
On Saturday evening Hockey will again be in the hot seat, as he hosts yet another party at the Weston Beach Race site, starting at five o'clock in the afternoon when racing has finished for the day. As well as more live music and a well stocked bar, the Weston Beach Race organisers have lined up a number of drinks promotions to keep everyone well lubricated!
"I'm looking forward to hosting the two parties at Weston this year," declared Hockey. "I'm not sure how well my karaoke efforts will be appreciated, but there will be plenty of other things going on when I take to the stage, so anyone whose eardrums are particularly sensitive needn't worry too much!"
"We're hoping for a big turn out this year, not just for the parties, but also for the event itself. We had 100,000 people on the beach last year, and that's the figure we're aiming to beat in 2009. Obviously, not everyone will be able to go to the parties on Friday and Saturday night, as we're limited on numbers, but I expect they will prove very popular and I'm looking forward to welcoming everyone to Weston."
Places at the parties on Friday and Saturday night are strictly limited. Email info@rhlactivities.com to book your places now. Everyone registering for the parties will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win VIP Hospitality.
