RED BULL MATADORS FLY INTO WESTON BEACH RACE
The world famous Red Bull Matadors aerobatic team will be one of the main attractions at the Weston Beach Race, which takes place this year from 9-11 October at the Somerset seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare.
Steve Jones and Paul Bonhomme, the two Red Bull Matador pilots, are considered to be amongst the best aerobatic pilots in the world. Bonhomme is one of the leading competitors in the world famous Red Bull Air Race series, and is currently leading the championship after taking the win in Ontario, Canada and finishing second in Abu Dhabi, America and Hungary.
The two Red Bull Matador pilots will be putting their Zivko Edge 540 planes through a wide repertoire of formation patterns at Weston, including a head-to-head approach at a closing speed of more than 400 mph. The display is definitely not for the faint hearted!
The Red Bull Matadors display will take place over the Weston beach front on Sunday 11 October at 11.30, and is just one of the off-track events that RHL Activities, the Beach Race organisers, have lined up to make this year's event a real family affair.
Gareth Hockey: Director – RHL Activities Limited
"We're understandably pleased that Red Bull have been able to secure the Matadors Aerobatic team for this year's Weston Beach Race, as their schedule during the year is a busy one. I think this will be one of the main attractions at this year's race, and will surpass any of the off-track entertainment we've had in previous years. This is just another example of us working together with Red Bull to make this year's Weston Beach Race a more family orientated event than ever before. Having seen the Red Bull Air Race, I'm really looking forward to watching the Matadors display, and I hope everyone at Weston will enjoy it too."
